Zojirushi Bread Makers

Bread Maker Reviews:

Zojirushi Corporation Company History:

Zojirushi Companies ElephantI thought it would be fun to learn a bit more about Zojirushi the company behind the famous BB-CEC20 Breadmaker that’s received such rave reviews.

According to the Zojirushi Company website they’ve been around a staggering 93 years at the time of this writing. First opening their doors in 1918 as the Ichikawa Brothers Trading Company in Osaka, Japan.

They originally manufactured glass-lined vacuum bottles which may be better known as thermoses in America. After several more name changes they eventually landed on Zojirushi Corporation in 1961 and adopted the corporate logo of “ZO” or the elephant.  The elephant symbolizes strength, intelligence, and familiarity, something their bread makers exemplify, at least the strength and intelligence.

It took them several more years to start manufacturing bread machines but they eventually started in 1988 with a bread maker called “The Home Bakery”.

They also manufacturer rice cookers, electric water boilers or kettles, stainless steel vacuum bottles(thermoses), lunch jars and more.

Zojirushi currently has offices in:

  • Osaka, Japan
  • Tokyo, Japan
  • Shenzhen, China
  • Bangkok, Thailand
  • Gardena, CA
  • Hong Kong, China
  • Taipei, Taiwan
  • Shanghai, China

The rest as they say is history.
